Quality Enhancement Plan

Student at graduationA Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is an integral and required part of the SACSCOC 10-year reaffirmation process. It is a future-oriented, time-bound project that allows the university to demonstrate its commitment to the continuous improvement of student learning and success. A QEP:

  • Identifies key, emerging issues for action based on institutional data
  • Aligns with and supports the institution’s strategic plan
  • Focuses on students and student learning
  • Reflects broad-based involvement
  • Includes clear and measurable goals

Selecting VCU's next QEP

Based on the SACSCOC criteria and data gathered through implementation of the REAL academic regulation, the broad theme for the next QEP is “Level up! Using VCU’s next QEP to connect all students to transformative, mentored experiences.”

While the theme identifies the broad goal of engaging students in mentored, applied experiences that add to their career readiness, facilitating selection of the specific strategy for achieving this goal is the work of the QEP Planning and Development Committee.

Submit a QEP topic proposal

Because the committee believes that the best and most transformative ideas come from VCU’s own faculty and staff, we are requesting proposals for projects that explicitly connect VCU students to life-changing mentored experiences. This RFP represents an opportunity for the VCU community to propose possible topics for the direction of VCU’s next QEP.
