Resources for difficult classroom conversations

Provost updates

Author: Office of the Provost

Open dialogue is an important component of the classroom experience for college students.  As faculty, it is important to understand that our students – and our community at large – are a microcosm of our global society. Although we don’t always agree, we must always be willing to listen, to reflect and to learn.

As always, be aware of the climate in your classrooms and offices. Allow for open dialogue when appropriate. As a reminder, the university has assembled resources to help you in guiding difficult classroom conversations as well as maintaining an inclusive environment. Please refer to these resources as needed.
