2016-2017 VCU Common Book Announced
The Common Book Committee, University College and the Office of the Provost announce the selection of "Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption," by Bryan Stevenson, as the 2016-2017 VCU Common Book. The Common Book supports first-year students’ immersion into the intellectual and cultural life of VCU.
About the book
"Just Mercy" is "a powerful true story about the potential for mercy to redeem us, and a clarion call to fix our broken system of justice—from one of the most brilliant and influential lawyers of our time." The book offers a window into a young, idealistic lawyer's experience and seeks to inspire compassion in the pursuit of justice. Read more here.
